About Kai
Who Is He?
His Story
Kai incorporates many disciplines into his practise, but most importantly his focus is on the exploration of movement.
He has dabbled in acrobatics, tricking, breakdancing, calisthenics, and weightlifting; learning to incorporate the skills from each to gain an understanding of skill transference.
Upon experimenting with all of these different disciplines, he found that the joy of engaging in these activities stemmed from one common factor: movement. He was fascinated by the ways in which the human body is able to move, intrigued by all the ways in which specific skills transfer to other disciplines, and started to explore all these possibilities.
Benefits of Multidisciplinary Training
All of these disciplines help steer the learning to specific aspects of overall movement, and thus sculpt a more balanced body. Not only a body of strength, but of mobility, balance, and coordination — a body that remains sustainably healthy in old age; one that many should consider “fit”.
The variety within training allows the learning process to be far more enjoyable than attempting to go to the gym and perform movements that, while highly transferable, are limited in scope.
While some people are able to undergo this routine method of training, for many, it is unsustainable. Integration of enjoyment helps create an internal motivation to continue to move and stay “fit”.
